SYNOPSIS

The story of a man who believes strongly in his God.
Mondher Najjar is the imam of the Grand Mosque of the city of Lyon, France, since 2002. He had to leave his native Tunisia to take up this position in a country where it was important to become part of the community. Taking on the roles of spiritual leader of a community of over 8000 faithful, of educator of converts, marriage counsellor, mediator and sometimes even psychologist, Mondher is also available every day for consultation and receives the men and women who come to seek the answers Islam offers on the problems of their daily life.
His existence is one of total spiritual commitment, but in his role as imam, he also strives to strike a balance between rigour and modernity in a general climate of mistrust towards Islam in European societies.
Adrien Rivollier paints a delicate portrait of the public and private life of a man of whom much is expected and who does not have all the answers…
